Mr Chou is one of the most professional and compassionate individuals I have ever come across. He explained everything in detail, to ensure that I was fully informed in regards to my hip replacement. I immediately felt at ease and trusted his judgement. Mr Chou immediately put me at ease and gave me the gift of time. On the day of the operation, he made sure that I was ok and during the anaesthetic preparation, he was always close and so very reassuring. The operation was a huge success and after a few weeks I was able to come off analgesia and my recovery is going very well. At my follow up appointment post surgery, I was delighted to be able to walk confidently and his encouragement has given me confidence to embrace my pain free life. I cannot really express how grateful I am to Mr Chou. A wonderful man, who gave me my life back. His gentle and professional manner is second to none and he goes the extra mile each and every day for his patients.

Great care from start to finish from everyone concerned, from Mr Chou to the health care assistant who was so kind to me on the first night post-op. I was offered surgery surprisingly soon after first consultation. Everything was well planned and clearly explained to me both at the initial consultation and on the day. The surgery went smoothly and I was discharged after two nights, surprisingly mobile and with pain well managed. For anyone reading this prior to their surgery, I would thoroughly recommend spinal anaesthesia which was amazing and not in the least scary, and I am the biggest coward out! Without doubt it contributed greatly to my speedy recovery. Eight weeks on I am now pain free for the first time in years and cannot thank Mr Chou and his team enough.

Mr Chou has been exemplary throughout the whole process. From the moment I met him he came across as caring and extremely knowledgeable about the whole process. He is obviously a very intelligent man. My hip operation was a success all down to him. He talked me through everything explaining in depth about the operation and made me feel totally at ease. He came to see me after the operation and really made me feel cared for. His aftercare is excellent. My whole experience with him has been fabulous. Also full marks to everyone at the Nuffield Hospital who cared for me. They were top class along with Mr Chou.

I feel lucky to have been referred to Mr Daud Chou for my hip replacement surgery. He is friendly and discussed my options fully, listening to my questions and answering clearly. He was attentive before and after the operation, he did an amazing job. I would recommend Mr Daud Chou to anyone.

I found mr chou very helpful in answering all my questions , very precise when explaining what he intended doing to make my life more enjoyable, and he has managed to do what he said, i realise that it is going to take a long time for things to get back to being normal, but I new that right from the beginning, I can walk better than I have for the last 50 years since my operation, and each week just gets better, I will forever be thankful to mr chou for what he has done for me, and will recommend him to anyone who needs his help, thank you. Mr Daud Chou is an outstanding surgeon, an excellent communicator and a genuinely kind and caring professional. He carried out a hip replacement operation on me 12 months ago, which was a complete success. In choosing a surgeon, I was particularly impressed by Mr Chou’s voluntary work in international disaster zones, both in terms of his dedication to others and also his ability to deal with very challenging operations. I came to the first appointment with lots of questions, all of which he patiently answered, clearly and helpfully. I left the appointment feeling very grateful to have found such an excellent consultant/surgeon. And I still feel that way! The operation itself and the aftercare have been brilliant. In addition, Mr Chou’s very neat surgical work has left a very tidy and much smaller operation scar than I’d expected! I would absolutely recommend Mr Chou to my family and friends and he will be my first choice should I need to have my other hip replaced.

I found Mr. Chou to be a kind and listening person. His understanding of the issues with my hip and my knees was refreshing and put me at ease. At the first consultation all these were discussed fully. It was only 4 weeks from the consultation to the operation. The admission into the Spire and the operation were faultless. The out come exceeded my expectations, i had little pain and was out of bed the following day, the physiotherapist was very happy with my mobility and said i could go home, but i stayed for another day.!! I am sure this is all down the skill of Mr. Chou and his team and the pre. op. preparation. I disgarded my sticks after 2 weeks, driving after 4 weeks, and back in the gym after 6 weeks. It has changed my life, thank you.

I am a biomedical scientist, working at Addenbrookes Hospital, in my early 50s and had needed a hip replacement for some years but it was delayed due to lockdown. From the time I was transferred to Mr Chou's NHS waiting list, to be operated on at the Nuffield (Cambridge), the communication, help and action improved greatly from my earlier experience. All the pre-flight checks were carried out quickly and efficiently and throughout them, the subsequent operation and the aftercare, the Nuffield staff were excellent in both their care and communication - I cannot fault them across the board Senior nurses, through healthcare assistants to porters. Mr Chou, himself, was outstanding. He answered all my questions thoroughly, clearly and with good humor and gave me complete confidence. The operation went very well (textbook I believe), as far as I can tell from the X-rays, wound clinic report and from the rehab - it is now 7 weeks post op and I can walk 3-4 miles with no stick support, do all the exercises prescribed and have already gained back a large degree of mobility, which I have lacked for 7+ years. I can give no better recommendation than that if the other hip needs doing in the future, I will be asking to be put straight onto Mr Chou's list
